Duties
- Deliver high-quality Plumbing teaching and learning programmes to a diverse range of learners.
- Plan, prepare and assess learning activities, ensuring students receive timely and constructive feedback.
- Act as a Personal Tutor, providing guidance, support and pastoral care to learners.
- Monitor student progress, attendance and achievement, maintaining accurate records.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement activities.
- Support learners in achieving their qualifications and progressing into employment or further study.
- Develop strong links with employers and contribute to work placement opportunities.
- Participate in open evenings, recruitment events and wider college activities.
Skills/Experience
- Industry experience within Plumbing and a strong understanding of current industry practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate learners of all ages and backgrounds.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Confident using IT systems and digital tools to support teaching and learning.
- Previous teaching experience or experience supporting apprentices in the workplace is desirable
Qualifications
- Minimum Level 3 NVQ qualification in Plumbing or a relevant trade discipline.
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards a Level 5 Teaching Qualification within the required timeframe.
- Relevant industry and professional qualifications are desirable.
- Assessor and/or Internal Verifier qualifications are desirable.
