This role is to support a non-verbal autistic individual. It is a rewarding opportunity to help someone enjoy everyday life, build confidence and reach their full potential. The person you will be supporting is tactile, highly sensitive and has a great sense of humour. They need someone with energy, kindness and a positive attitude who can understand their needs, recognise when they may be becoming overwhelmed and respond calmly to help prevent situations from escalating. You should also feel confident supporting them during autistic meltdowns with patience, reassurance and understanding.
The role includes providing personal care, as the individual is doubly incontinent. You must be comfortable with cleaning, changing continence pads and supporting personal hygiene while always maintaining dignity and respect. Duties include:
- Personal grooming
- Eating and drinking assistance
- Other relevant duties as required
- Bathroom assistance
- Support personal hygiene while maintaining dignity, respect and comfort
- Provide personal care, including cleaning and changing continence pads
Candidate qualities:

Additional requirements:
- Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
