To support developments within the Emergency Department at Eastbourne District General Hospital, East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust requires a further Consultant in Emergency Medicine. The post holder will assist in the provision of a high quality emergency service as part of the development of a multi-disciplinary team approach to care within the speciality.
Applicants must have full GMC registration and be on the specialist register or within 6 months of their CCT. East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust operates two level 1 emergency departments at Eastbourne DGH and Conquest Hospital with Conquest designated as a Trauma Unit. Applications are invited for the post of consultant in emergency medicine. The appointee will join the existing consultants to complete a team of 8 in the emergency department.
Duties will be based at Eastbourne but may on occasion work cross-site at Conquest with a 1 in 8 weekend and 1:8 on call. It is anticipated that when all posts are filled the timetabled PAs of all consultants will allow shop floor cover for the following hours:
- A rotation between Monday-Friday shop floor cover 0800-00.00
- Saturday-Sunday 0800-1600 shop floor and 1 in 8 on call.
- Consultant shifts to be covered are 1200 to 2200, 1400 to 0000 and 1600-0200.
