At Little Diamonds Nursery our mission is to provide a high-quality early years education, offering every child a stimulating, inclusive and challenging learning environment where curiosity and confidence can grow. As a Nursery Apprentice, you will be expected to provide the highest standard of care and education while gaining hands-on experience in a high-quality childcare setting and working towards recognised childcare qualifications.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging age-appropriate activities that support children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
- Building warm, positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to create a safe and nurturing environment.
- Observing, assessing, and recording children’s progress, identifying next steps in their learning.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and stimulating setting, following safeguarding, health, and safety procedures at all times.
- Working collaboratively as part of a team to support the daily running of the nursery, including routines such as meals, toileting, and rest times.
- Promoting inclusion, wellbeing, and positive behaviour throughout the setting.
Working Week: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.
Qualifications Required: Maths and English 4 or equivalent is desirable.
Personal Qualities: Calm, Caring and nurturing, Positive, Practical, Passionate about a career in early years.
Skills Required: Professional Communication, Ability to learn, Dedication, Some EYFS knowledge.
Training to be Provided: Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day. You will be working towards the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours, and Functional skills in Maths and English if required. This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.
