Join our forward-thinking Infant Feeding Team and make a real difference in the lives of children and families! This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to join our team.
As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in promoting, protecting, and supporting breastfeeding while ensuring adherence to UNICEF Baby Friendly standards across the Early Start 0-19 Health Visiting Service. In this role, you will provide tailored, individual support and information to families, assisting them regardless of how they choose to feed their baby. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the health and wellbeing of primary school-aged children through height and weight checks for reception and year six children as part of the National Child Measurement Programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance and support for breastfeeding and infant feeding in line with best practice and UNICEF Baby Friendly standards.
- Deliver health and wellbeing support to primary school children, including carrying out height and weight checks as part of the National Child Measurement Programme.
- Work closely with families to promote healthy lifestyle choices and achieve positive health outcomes.
- Be proactive and self-motivated, managing your workload independently and effectively.
Ideal Candidates:
- Applicants should have an NVQ3 qualification in a relevant field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong knowledge of current best practices in infant and breastfeeding support is essential.
- Previous experience working with children and families, particularly in providing infant feeding support, promoting health outcomes, or working in a school/nursery setting, is highly desirable.
- Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently and manage their time and workload effectively.
