Are you looking for a fantastic opportunity to advance your Occupational Therapy skills? We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) with ideally a broad range of specialist knowledge and skills of working in both physical and mental health services as a Band 6, ideally with a minimum of 5 plus years’ experience in the NHS.

This is a permanent post 1FTE, in a niche area of OT and you need to be a team player in order to truly enjoy and feel the benefits of this role. The post holder would be predominantly based at Mountbatten House in Dunstable, although will offer clinics across the county.

We are a well-established Fatigue Service with two pathways – the Bedfordshire Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Service and the BLMK (Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes) Post Covid Fatigue Service (PCFS). Experience of working in these specialist areas is desired but not essential.

The service provides specialist MDT assessments and treatments for those patients whose main symptoms are mild to moderate and those with more complex presentations. The post holder will work alongside other specialist professionals, including OT, Physiotherapy and Psychology; and will be well supported and connected to other OTs working across Bedfordshire community health services.

This post offers an opportunity to join an effective and creative MDT team where you will develop and advance your existing skills as an OT. The service professionals are active contributors to national special interest networks and working on developing the evidence base in post covid fatigue treatment.

The service works in collaboration with GPs, the wider Post Covid pathway across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes and integrate with other community partners. Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.

To be a Specialist Occupational Therapist within a multi-disciplinary team responsible for providing a high standard of assessment, advice and treatment to clients referred to the Bedfordshire Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Service and the BLMK Post COVID Fatigue Service. To work with clients towards rehabilitation, self-management, increased independence and a better quality of life.

To work as part of a multi professional service, working with patients to support self-management and independence throughout the continuum of care, to improve their outcomes. To hold responsibility for own caseload under supervision and to provide specialist consultation and education to community colleagues in the field of fatigue management. Vocational OT experience would be welcome.

To work as an autonomous professional according to the Health Professions Council’s regulations. However the post holder will have the opportunity to receive supervision and support from experienced and specialist clinicians to grow your own knowledge and expertise.
