Purpose of Role: As a Production Shift Leader, this role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless functioning of production processes with a paramount focus on maintaining and elevating both product quality and food safety. The responsibilities encompass efficient shift coordination, strategic resource allocation for quality improvement, and continuous enhancement initiatives to meet and surpass department-specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). A fundamental aspect of this role lies in data analysis and reporting, emphasizing a data-driven approach to achieve and sustain optimal production outcomes, particularly in the context of food safety.

Key Areas:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop production staff, including Section Leaders, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement improvement plans as needed.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment through effective communication and leadership.
  • Manage staffing levels to meet production demands and maintain a responsive production environment.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of production staff.
  • Proactively manage employee relations cases in line with Company policies and procedures.

Health and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Promote a culture of safety by conducting regular safety training and audits.
  • Address safety concerns promptly and effectively to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Oversee the implementation of health and safety initiatives and ensure all staff are aware of safety protocols.

Food Safety and Quality:

  • Oversee and enforce food safety protocols to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) principles.
  • Maintain rigorous quality assurance protocols to monitor and enhance product quality.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a production management role within the FMCG sector, preferably in food processing.
  • Strong knowledge of production management, food safety, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in production management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum B2 Level of English.
  • Experience in seafood processing, particularly salmon.

  • Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
