An experienced HGV Driver who will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to our customers. In addition to driving trucks and delivering goods, the driver will also oversee the loading and off-loading of goods, clean and maintain the truck, find the best routes, and promote the Mowi brand. To ensure success, the driver should have a clean driving record, a recent CPC, and a minimum of 3 years' experience. The HGV driver will value honesty, dependability, and ensure reliable logistics.

Key Areas:

  • Inspecting, cleaning and refuelling the vehicle
  • Safely transporting goods to and from distribution centres
  • Obeying the rules of the road and following company safety regulations
  • Finding the quickest and safest route to your destination
  • Following accident procedures
  • Ability to drive long distances while maintaining focus
  • Keep an activities log and log hours
  • Report mechanical problems to maintenance personnel
  • Carry out vehicle/equipment inspections on at least a daily basis and immediately report any actual or possible defects to your Line Manager
  • Driving the HGV in a responsible manner to meet targets while complying with all current applicable road transport regulations at all times
  • Comply with all legislation and the organisation’s requirements concerning the vehicle’s Tachograph (Digi or Manual)
  • General activities including safe and legal loading and offloading, checking all orders, delivery notes and associated documentation, obtaining signatures as required, and reporting any delivery discrepancies at the time of delivery
  • Immediately inform Line Manager of any incidents involving you/your vehicle and/or if you are unable to perform tasks on time or at all (accident, traffic delays, etc)
  • Assist Line Manager to make improvements and implement required changes
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, codes and legislation, including health and safety
  • Immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the organisation and/or its clients/customers to Line Manager

Qualifications:

  • Valid Certificate of Professional Confidence (CPC)

Skills:

  • 3+ years' experience as a HGV driver
  • Self-motivated and able to work without supervision
  • Clean driving License
  • Conducting minor roadside repairs on the truck
  • Maintaining a good relationship with customers

Experience:

  • Experience with goods handling preferred
  • Experience with GPS navigation and mapping
