The Security Manager will take overall responsibility for physical security across the MSAI Scotland data centre campus, ensuring the site, personnel, infrastructure and customer assets are protected at all times.
The role will oversee perimeter security, access control, CCTV, visitor management and SIA-licensed guarding, while leading security incident response and maintaining a strong security culture across the site.
The Security Manager will work closely with the wider Operations and Facilities teams and report to the Security Project Manager.
Duties
- Take overall responsibility for physical security operations across the campus.
- Manage and oversee SIA-licensed security personnel and guarding contractors.
- Develop and maintain site security procedures, standards and operating processes.
- Manage access control systems, including access permissions, badges, credentials and access reviews.
- Operate and oversee CCTV and video surveillance systems, ensuring effective monitoring and recording.
- Manage perimeter security, including gates, barriers, fencing, security lighting and intrusion detection systems.
- Lead the visitor management and vetting process, ensuring appropriate authorisation and identification procedures are followed.
- Manage access for employees, contractors, suppliers and customers in accordance with site security requirements.
- Conduct regular security patrols, inspections and vulnerability assessments.
- Lead the response to security incidents, breaches, alarms and emergencies.
- Coordinate with emergency services, law enforcement and other relevant authorities when required.
- Investigate security incidents and produce detailed incident reports and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate records of security incidents, access activity, visitor movements and investigations.
- Ensure security systems remain operational, tested and appropriately maintained.
- Coordinate with security technology providers and specialist contractors for maintenance and upgrades.
- Support the design, commissioning and ongoing operation of new security infrastructure and systems.
- Carry out regular reviews of site security risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Develop and test security emergency procedures and response plans.
- Support security aspects of business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
- Ensure security arrangements meet the requirements of customers, insurers and relevant regulatory or contractual obligations.
- Support security audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality and security of sensitive site and customer information.
- Work closely with Data Centre Operations, Facilities, IT, HSE and senior management.
- Provide regular security performance reports and updates to the Security Project Manager.
- Deliver security briefings and awareness training to staff and contractors.
- Promote a strong security-first culture across the campus.
- Participate in an out-of-hours/on-call rota for critical security incidents.
