About the role: As a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you will support the safe, effective and lawful supply of medicines while working closely with pharmacists and the wider healthcare team. This role is ideal for someone looking to progress within pharmacy and develop the skills and knowledge needed to become a registered Pharmacy Technician.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing, ordering, receiving and supplying medicines and pharmaceutical products safely and accurately
  • Providing person‑centred advice to patients on prescription and over‑the‑counter medicines, referring to healthcare professionals where appropriate
  • Supporting the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, including business processes, stock control and clinical governance
  • Supervising and supporting pharmacy support staff as you progress in the role
  • Assisting with training and mentoring new members of staff
  • Maintaining high standards through auditing, evaluating services and responding to feedback

Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship (equivalent to A‑level). On successful completion, you will be eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Training delivered through a blended learning approach alongside your job.

Please note that this vacancy may close earlier than the stated deadline if a suitable candidate is found. Previous pharmacy experience preferred, but will consider applicants with strong retail experience. We are looking for somebody based within 30 minutes of the pharmacy, please make this clear on your CV if you are able to drive.

Working Week: Monday to Friday 9-6 rotational Saturday, day off during the week when Saturdays are worked.

Qualifications Required: Potential apprentices must have GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English.

Personal Qualities:

  • A keen interest in pharmacy and healthcare.

Skills Required:

  • Previous experience in the pharmacy industry or similar.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • The willingness to learn and develop your skills and knowledge.

Training to be Provided: Pharmacy Technician (Integrated) Level 3.
