A well-established civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Site Agent to support the delivery of infrastructure and highways projects in the Dudley area. With a strong order book and a reputation for delivering complex civil engineering schemes, they are looking for a proactive individual to join the team on a freelance basis.
Your new role
- Work alongside the Site Manager and report directly to the Contracts Manager, taking responsibility for the safe and successful delivery of a highway and civil engineering scheme in Dudley.
- Manage day-to-day site operations across drainage, kerbing, paving and Section 278 works.
- Coordinate subcontractors, labour, plant and materials.
- Monitor programme performance and ensure works are delivered on schedule.
- Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Ensure high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
- Conduct site inspections and oversee quality control processes.
- Maintain accurate site records and report progress to the Contracts Manager.
- Liaise with project stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of works.
- Support the Site Manager with the overall management and performance of the project.
- Identify and resolve site issues to minimise programme impacts and delays.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience working as a Site Agent within civil engineering or highways.
- Strong background delivering drainage, kerbing and paving works.
- Experience working on Section 278 schemes.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- SMSTS.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Experience managing subcontractors and site teams.
