The phlebotomist will work closely with the community services and visit housebound patients in their own home or care home to collect venous blood samples and take basic observations when required, under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse.

The Phlebotomist will work in a variety of settings including patients in their own homes and residential care homes. Phlebotomy and community experience is desirable but not essential. The Phlebotomy service will operate 7 days a week with hours between 07:30 and 18:00.

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying, leading to a nationally recognised qualification.

The Phlebotomist will promote optimum independence and individualised patient-centred care to a delegated caseload. They will undertake basic clinical observations such as blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and weight where required.
