The Best Connection is delighted to be recruiting Class 1 (CE) Drivers on behalf of our respected logistics client based in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity to secure ongoing, full-time weekday work with a professional and well-established transport operation. Offering regular start times, a guaranteed paid week and full training support, this role is ideal for both experienced drivers and newly qualified Class 1 drivers looking to build their career.

What's on Offer?

  • £16.77 per hour
  • Monday to Friday working pattern
  • Start times between 05:00 and 07:00
  • Typical shifts of 10-11 hours
  • Ongoing work available throughout 2026
  • ADOCH available - Minimum 8 hours paid per shift
  • Full induction and training provided
  • Modern fleet with truck sat nav supplied

The Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for delivering products primarily to building merchants throughout the region. The role will involve a combination of Class 1 and occasional Class 2 work, depending on operational requirements.

Duties include:

  • Driving double-decker curtain-sided vehicles
  • Completing daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
  • Delivering products safely and professionally
  • Using site-provided navigation systems
  • Following all transport, compliance and health & safety procedures
  • Signing in and out through site security
  • Building knowledge of routes and products as responsibilities develop

Drivers will initially complete a single run, with duties increasing as experience and product knowledge grow.

Requirements

  • Valid Category CE (Class 1) Licence
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Professional and reliable attitude
  • Ability to complete the assessment and induction process
  • Flexibility should business requirements change in the future

  • Vehicles are pre-loaded and secured before departure
  • Deliveries are unloaded by FLT operators
  • Training provided on mirrorless vehicles
  • Older DAF vehicles available initially if preferred
  • CCTV fitted within cabs for security purposes
  • No nights out currently required
