Edinburgh Academy Senior & Junior Schools (Multi-site role)
Salary: £38,500 per annum + operational bonus
Hours: Full-time 40 hours per week - Mon-Fri (some weekend working business dependent)
Working Pattern: This role is primarily based around afternoon and evening working, in line with the operational requirements of the cleaning service. Typical shifts include 11.30 am – 8.00 pm and 10.00 am – 6.30 pm, with occasional daytime shifts such as 7.00 am – 3.30 pm to support the wider operation. The cleaning team you will manage primarily works 4.00 pm – 8.00 pm.
Contract Type: Permanent :Monday to Friday working pattern with occasional weekend, Free lunch on site, Christmas and New Year off. Driving licence and own car essential - free onsite parking included.

We're looking for a proactive, hands-on Domestic Cleaning Manager to lead our cleaning operations across Edinburgh Academy Senior and Junior Schools in Edinburgh. This is an active management role where you'll lead by example, support your team on the ground, and ensure exceptional cleaning standards are delivered every day.
What you'll do:
- Manage and develop a team of cleaning professionals, creating an engaged and high-performing culture
- Be visible across site daily, monitoring standards, coaching colleagues and supporting operations where needed
- Plan rotas, manage staffing levels, absence and annual leave
- Lead recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training for the cleaning team
- Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
- Manage cleaning schedules and workforce management systems
- Maintain strong relationships with the client and key stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, COSHH and company standards
- Manage cleaning supplies and budgets effectively
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience managing large cleaning teams
- Strong people leadership and performance management skills
- Experience working in a standards-driven or compliance-focused environment
- Knowledge of health & safety and COSHH regulations
- Experience conducting audits and risk assessments
- Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to prioritise workloads and deploy resources effectively
- Facilities Management or contract management experience
- IOSH, NEBOSH or FM-related qualifications
- Experience working with audit and compliance systems
