Digital Trainer | East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust

The post holder will work within the Digital Training Team to deliver, support and evaluate IT training aligned to the organisation’s Digital Strategy.

The role focuses on enabling staff to effectively use digital systems, information and technology to support healthcare delivery, while promoting Information Governance and data protection requirements.

  • Deliver IT training to a wide range of clinical and non-clinical staff across multiple sites.
  • Identify and analyse training needs and contribute to the development of training programmes.
  • Support staff to improve their use of digital systems, information and technology in practice.
  • Promote awareness of Information Governance and the protection of personal data.
  • Contribute to improving healthcare delivery through effective use of digital tools and information.

The Digital Training Team are part of the Digital Division. The post holder will be working in the Blackpool locality as part of a wider regional One LSC organisation.

One LSC stands for ‘One Lancashire and South Cumbria’ and reflects the ambition to have one team serving Lancashire and South Cumbria in a joined-up way.

One LSC brings together the Digital, Data and Technology teams from each of the provider Trusts to create one central community of professionals.

The aim is to bring services more closely together so that we can deliver the best service possible to each of our partner organisations.

At the core of One LSC delivery is eliminating duplication, removing unwarranted variation, realisation of the benefits of sharing common systems and processes and ensuring we deliver value for money for our partners, our system and, ultimately, for the communities we serve.

Plan, organise and schedule training programmes in collaboration with colleagues and departments.

Undertake training needs assessments, including evaluating IT literacy prior to system implementation.

Deliver training using a range of methods including classroom-based, one-to-one, group sessions and on-the-job support.

Develop, prepare, review and update training materials and documentation for clinical systems and Microsoft applications.

Assess learner competency, evaluate training effectiveness and identify improvements or follow-up requirements.

Maintain accurate training records, contribute to training statistics and provide reports as required.

Provide ongoing system support to staff through methods such as floor walking, drop-in sessions and coaching.

Prepare training environments, ensuring equipment, systems and materials are available.

Liaise with departments to coordinate staff release and attendance at training.

Communicate system changes and project impacts on training through presentations and discussions.

Participate in inductions and represent the service at internal and external forums.

Support knowledge sharing, service improvement, networking and personal development activities.
