Manor High School is seeking a dedicated Design Technology/Food Technician to provide essential hands-on support that enables high-quality practical design, kitchen and workshop lessons and helps maintain a safe, hygienic and well-resourced Design Technology classroom and workshop.
You will be expected to work in either our Food Preparation and Nutrition space, or our Design and Art classrooms.

About the role
As Design Technology/Food Technician you will play a central role in the day-to-day running of our Design Technology classrooms and workshop.
Desirable (not essential) attributes include relevant technical qualifications, experience of working in a school support capacity and further training in health & safety.
- Primary responsibilities
- Preparing and clearing practical lessons, including setting up tools, equipment and materials.
- Providing hands-on support to students during practical lessons to promote safe, effective learning.
- Maintaining a safe, hygienic and well-organised working environment and carrying out cleaning and care of departmental items.
- Organising maintenance and repairs for equipment and completing the annual equipment inventory.
- Ordering materials, equipment and supplies, and supporting the departmental filing and resource organisation.
- Using basic IT skills (e. g. downloading photos from digital cameras) to support curriculum practice.
- Assisting with tasks across the Art, Design & Technology department as required.
- Adhere to all health and safety and food hygiene standards.
