Luma Education Recruitment are working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school in Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside, to appoint an inspiring and experienced Deputy Headteacher to support the strategic leadership of the school and help drive its continued success. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious school leader with experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) education, or Alternative Provision, who is passionate about improving outcomes for young people with additional needs.

Working closely with the Headteacher, the successful candidate will help lead teaching and learning, promote positive behaviour and wellbeing, support school improvement initiatives, and ensure every pupil has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Headteacher with the strategic and operational leadership of the school
  • Lead on teaching, learning and curriculum development to ensure high educational standards
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and therapeutic culture for pupils with SEMH needs
  • Support, coach and develop staff through effective leadership and professional development
  • Monitor pupil progress, behaviour and attendance, implementing improvement strategies where required
  • Ensure safeguarding, statutory compliance and school policies are consistently maintained
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers, local authorities and external professionals
  • Deputise for the Headteacher when required and contribute to the school's long-term strategic vision

Β£53,000+ salary (negotiable depending on experience)
