As a Deputy FM Manager in our Justice and Immigration Facilities Management team, you’ll help ensure a safe, compliant and well-maintained environment at HMP Ashfield. You’ll oversee the day-to-day delivery of planned and reactive maintenance activities, leading skilled teams and supporting the operational needs of the establishment. What you’ll do as a Deputy FM Manager:
- Support the development and delivery of maintenance plans that meet statutory, contractual and operational requirements.
- Plan, prioritise and allocate maintenance activities, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to agreed standards.
- Monitor workflow, productivity and work quality, providing guidance and challenge to achieve excellent outcomes.
- Lead and develop maintenance colleagues, promoting a culture built on Trust, Care, Pride and Innovation.
- Oversee contractor activities, ensuring compliance with risk assessments, method statements and quality standards.
- Manage budgets, authorise expenditure in line with policy, and support the effective procurement of parts and equipment.
- Deputise for the Manager as required (ie when off-site), ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the service and providing effective leadership and support to the team.
Does this sound like you?
- Experience leading and developing diverse teams in a facilities management, engineering or maintenance environment.
- Ideally, qualified in a relevant electrical or Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) discipline, with strong technical knowledge.
- Experience using Building Management Systems and managing maintenance programmes in a Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system.
- Strong understanding of health, safety and compliance requirements, including contractor management.
- Able to make sound operational decisions, solve problems effectively and maintain high standards in a demanding environment.
