What the role involves:

As a Defence Engineer, you will help deliver effective support solutions for complex defence systems, enabling their successful integration and transition into operational service. Working on emerging and active defence programmes, you will contribute to Through-Life Support activities across land, sea and air domains, collaborating with MOD teams, industry partners and other stakeholders to develop practical, cost-effective support solutions. You will also provide technical input into support strategies and consultancy that helps maximise the long-term performance of defence platforms and systems. Additionally, you will:

  • Conduct supportability analysis and maintenance planning
  • Assess obsolescence and optimise support solutions
  • Develop supportability cases and lifecycle costing information
  • Provide consultancy on infrastructure and programme support
  • Support the integration and in-service delivery of tactical platforms and systems

Who we are looking for:

To be considered as a Defence Engineer, you will need:

  • At least five years' experience within an armed forces or civilian defence role
  • Significant experience in Systems Engineering roles within defence, aerospace, or high integrity systems
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams, including operational users and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of MOD acquisition processes and defence support frameworks
  • The ability to interpret and develop artefacts in line with MOD and NATO policy
  • The ability to obtain and hold Security Clearance (or existing SC)
  • An HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline

These roles cover a variety of engineering disciplines (including electrical, mechanical and weapons) from all domains (land, sea and air), and we would welcome applications from individuals with experience in these areas.
