This position is for a National role, you can be based all over the UK willing to reach one of our officies.
The Customs Compliance Manager (Government & Defence) is a strategic compliance leader responsible for ensuring Kuehne+Nagel Government & Defence operations meet the highest standards of customs and trade compliance.
Working across bids, customer solutions, operational implementation, audits and training, this role acts as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, customers and operational teams.
The position plays a critical role in protecting the business, supporting customer growth andstrengthening Kuehne+Nagel reputation as a trusted logistics partner within the defence and government sector.
- How you create impact
- Provide expert guidance on customs compliance, export controls, sanctions and trade regulations.
- Act as the subject matter expert for Government & Defence trade compliance matters.
- Support commercial bids and new business opportunities by providing compliance expertise during solution design andimplementation.
- Partner with customers to develop compliant and efficient international trade solutions.
- Develop and lead self-assessment and audit programmes.
- Identify risks, drive corrective actions and promote continuous improvement.
- Design and deliver compliance training programmes.
- Build compliance awareness across operational and commercial teams.
- Lead compliance projects and process improvements
- What we would like you to bring
- Extensive experience in customs and trade compliance.
- Strong knowledge of export controls, customs regulations, sanctions and trade compliance frameworks.
- Experience supporting highly regulated industries.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Desirable
- Defence or Government sector experience.
- Knowledge of ITAR, EAR and UK Strategic Export Controls.
