About Us
The Orthotic Works has been helping people improve their mobility and wellbeing in the UK since 2003. We use digital gait analysis and proprietary technology to create custom-made orthotics that realign the biomechanics of the body. Based in York, we also attend major events and shows across the UK. Weβre looking for a friendly, organised, and proactive individual to support our customer service, order management, and event administration functions. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small but dedicated team where no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service (virtual only β phone/email): Answer incoming calls and handle customer enquiries
- Customer Service (virtual only β phone/email): Manage appointment bookings and maintain calendars
- Customer Service (virtual only β phone/email): Provide clear information about our services, products, and guarantees
- Customer Service (virtual only β phone/email): Assist customers with adjustments, additional orders, and aftercare
- Order Processing & Support: Help process and track customer orders through our system
- Order Processing & Support: Assist the technical team with preparing and laying out orders for production
- Order Processing & Support: Pack and ship completed orders to customers
- Administration & Events: Handle email correspondence with customers and event organisers
- Administration & Events: Manage event-related documentation and communications
- Administration & Events: Support the smooth running of our event participation
Skills & Experience
- Strong communication skills, both on the phone and by email
- Highly organised with good attention to detail
- Confident using computers and learning new systems (Training provided)
- A friendly, professional, and customer-focused approach
- Previous administrative or customer service experience is desirable
Β£12.50βΒ£13.50 per hour, depending on experience

Working Pattern
Part-time: 3 days per week. Tuesday - Thursday (10:00 β 16:00). Flexibility may occasionally be required around events.
