About the Role
As a Class 1 Driver, you will
- Cover a variety of trunking operations, including straight runs between hubs or Burts and designated delivery points, ensuring efficient collection, delivery, and return loading through the hub network.
- Provide cover for internal trunking when required, ensuring all freight is accurately checked and verified against manifests at each depot.
- Load and secure goods to a high standard, using appropriate restraints (straps, nets, etc.) to prevent movement or damage in transit.
- Carry out thorough daily vehicle safety checks using your company device, maintaining high standards of compliance and reliability.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with the transport team, providing timely updates to support operational efficiency and customer service.
- Attend and engage in regular training to remain compliant with industry regulations and best practice standards.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
- Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
- Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
