An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Lead Cancer Psychologist to lead and further develop the Cancer Psychological Support Service at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. We are seeking an enthusiastic psychologist with substantial NHS experience and a strong interest in health psychology and psycho-oncology. Experience as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist working with people affected by cancer would be a significant advantage.
This is an excellent opportunity to shape and influence a growing service, ensuring that patients and their families receive high-quality psychological support throughout the cancer pathway. As the professional lead for the service, you will work alongside a passionate and dedicated multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will provide both clinical and managerial leadership.
You will hold a specialist caseload, delivering expert psychological assessment and intervention for patients experiencing complex psychological distress associated with cancer diagnosis. In addition, you will be responsible for the operational management and development of the Cancer Psychological Support Team.
You will receive professional and clinical support through established supervision arrangements and will have opportunities to work closely with colleagues across the Cancer Alliance. The role offers involvement in Cancer Alliance psychological support networks, Communities of Practice, and collaborative service development initiatives with psycho-oncology professionals across the region.
