An opportunity has arisen for a full or part time Clinical Nurse Specialist within HIV at Croydon Sexual Health Centre (CSHC) for a fixed period of 36 months (subject to renewal as per allocated funding).

CSHC is situated in purpose-built premises on the acute hospital site. It is fully integrated with contraception and sexual health delivered from the ground floor and HIV on the 1st floor. In addition, CSHC operates a specialist psychosexual service and specialist training.

The post holder will work within the multi-disciplinary team providing care for patients for HIV. The individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the department while having a commitment to teaching.

  • To work with the multidisciplinary teams in ED and HIV to ensure a high uptake of HIV testing in the ED.
  • To work with the Sexual Health/HIV CNS teams, to ensure that all patients testing positive for HIV have equitable access to investigations, treatment, and follow-up care.
  • To work with Sexual Health/HIV CNS teams, to maintain robust pathways for patients to receive positive HIV results in a timely manner and have immediate access to the specialist HIV teams for follow up and treatment and care.
  • To work with the teams to develop appropriate guidelines and pathways to enhance optimal management of patients.
  • To collect appropriate data for the project.
  • To run nurse-led clinics and manage own specialist case load.
