To act as the Psychology and Psychotherapy Lead for Complex Emotional Needs in the new Croydon Community Secondary Care Neighbourhood Model. The post holder will be responsible for governance and running of the therapy offer for patients with complex emotional needs. Currently, this consists of an intensive skills-based group and individual therapy programme with line management responsibility for staff up to Band 7 working in this part of the pathway in collaboration with the Head of Psychology and Psychotherapy.
Professional leadership and clinical supervision are fundamental aspects of the role, alongside direct clinical work. Training and consultation to the teams within the Croydon Directorate forms part of the integrated link role of the post. To offer specialist clinical input to wider services where appropriate.
To support the Clinical and Operational Lead for the Personality Disorder pathway in Croydon which provides input from Tier 1 to Tier 4. To contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe and trauma-informed environment.
To ensure that systems are in place and working effectively for the clinical and professional supervision and support of other staff working with Complex Emotional Needs. To undertake service evaluation, audit, research, QI and policy development.
To work as an autonomous professional within relevant professional guidelines and codes of conduct and guided by principles and policies or procedures of the service, taking responsibility for interpreting policies within defined parameters. To agree outcomes/results with clinical/professional lead and to decide how they are best achieved.
