Role Purpose
This is a high-profile senior role within the Commercial Finance team. The primary deliverable is to provide and analyse financial information to generate insight and recommendations that support value-added decision‑making, partnering closely across all areas of the business to drive performance, support strategic initiatives, and ensure robust financial control. The job holder will demonstrate strong commercial acumen, excellent reporting capability and confident use of financial systems.
A typical day in this role includes
- Being the finance owner of all elements of company sales and margin, business partnering across all areas of the business to provide financial analysis, insight and support
- Leading the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes for sales and margin.
This includes driving the key bottom‑up category‑level annual review, supporting trading teams with analysis, identifying risks and opportunities, and supporting the delivery against financial targets
- Owning and managing all the financial processes and controls relevant to sales and margin, including month end accounting and supporting KPIs as well as providing and presenting financial updates to senior stakeholders and parent company
- Delivering weekly and monthly trading performance analysis, translating complex financial and commercial data into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders
- Ownership of the Superdrug Mobile P&L providing business partnering support, internally and with external stakeholders, on strategic projects, promotional initiatives, and supplier negotiations
- Leading financial support for strategic trading projects and tenders with robust financial modelling and analysis
- Driving continuous improvement and automation across trading finance processes
- Providing ad‑hoc analysis and support to the wider Finance function and leadership teams

What you'll need
- We’re looking for someone who can combine
- strong technical finance skills with the confidence to influence and present to
- senior operational stakeholders.
- Strong commercial finance experience, ideally within retail
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across multiple functions
- A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage priorities, improve processes, and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment
