We are excited to offer highly motivated Band 6 Speech and Language Therapists the opportunity to join our friendly team!
We would welcome applicants who are experienced as Band 6s, or Band 5s who are looking for development opportunities.
The service works with children from birth to 19yrs and consists of the following pathways:
- Early Years
- School age EHCN assessments
- Eating and Drinking Difficulties /Complex Special Needs
The post will involve working within the Early Years Team as well as carrying out school age EHCNAs, but there may be opportunities to work across other service areas.

The successful applicants will be enthusiastic about working in partnership with others including families and professionals to support children and young people in Croydon.
The role involves assessment, diagnosis and delivering therapy to children with speech, language and communication needs, as well as training, coaching and support for key people in the child's life.
Croydon Health Services provides integrated NHS services to care for people at home, in schools, and health clinics across the borough as well as at Croydon University Hospital and Purley War Memorial Hospital.
CUH provides more than 100 specialist services and is home to the borough’s only Emergency Department and 24/7 maternity services, including a labour ward, midwifery-led birth centre and the Crocus home birthing team.
Purley War Memorial Hospital (PWMH) in the south of the borough offers outpatient care, including diagnostic services, physiotherapy and ophthalmology services run by Moorfields Eye Hospital, alongside an onsite GP surgery.

With the Croydon Children’s Speech and Language Therapy team, you will have access tothe following support with your role and development:
- Regular 1:1 supervision with your line manager.
- Access to experienced specialists within the team who provide second opinions, training and support.
- An identified mentor / buddy who will be available to support you with any questions you may have and to help you settle in.
- Termly Reflective Practice sessions with the wider Allied Health Professionals within the organisation. These sessions have a focus on self-reflection with regards to your role.
- Termly Band 6 forums, with a focus on professional development.
- Regular team meetings with a focus on CPD and opportunities to discuss current matters with your colleagues.
- Opportunities to access a range of quality internal and external training courses in order to support your CPD.
- Opportunities to develop your leadership skills through contributing to Quality Improvement projects, working parties, informal support of team members and working alongside experienced colleagues.
