We are currently recruiting for Welfare Officers to join our client at their Crowborough site. This is an excellent opportunity to join an independent organisation that delivers accommodation services across the UK, supporting both central and local government, as well as the charitable sector.

As a Welfare Officer, you will play a key role in providing direct advice, support, and safeguarding to Service Users (SUs) residing in temporary accommodation. You will manage an assigned caseload, ensuring welfare standards are maintained while working in line with company procedures.

This role operates on a 48-hour week, consisting of 12-hour shifts:

  • Night shifts: 19:00 - 07:00

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and signposting to external services such as healthcare providers, shops, and support agencies
  • Conduct regular welfare checks and site visits, reporting incidents, issues, and absconders
  • Ensure Service Users are moved on within required timeframes
  • Arrange transport and relocation of Service Users where required
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure systems are up to date
  • Manage a portfolio of accommodation properties and hotel placements
  • Carry out monthly inspections and report maintenance issues
  • Ensure properties meet health and safety standards at all times
  • Coordinate and carry out minor repairs where necessary
  • Manage property inventory and ensure items are repaired or replaced as needed
  • Support effective void and property management through recommendations to management

Additional Information

Successful applicants will be subject to DBS and CTC clearance. Unfortunately, this role does not offer sponsorship under the points-based system.
