Newborn Hearing Screening Technician | Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

An exciting position has opened up for a new staff member to join our small, friendly Newborn Hearing team!

The Newborn Hearing Screening Programme (NHSP) is a national initiative which aims to detect permanent hearing impairments in newborn babies at the earliest opportunity.

The successful candidate will become part of a five-technician team that undertakes hearing screening on the maternity ward at Leighton Hospital.

The team is integral to the wider Paediatric Audiology service in the Women's & Children's division, which lead by a Consultant Audiovestibular Physician.

The role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to work a flexible daytime shift pattern.

No prior experience of hearing screening is required as full training will be provided, and the candidate will be supported to undertake a fully-funded Level 3 Health Screening diploma.

We are looking for a candidate with experience in a public-facing role, preferably with parents and infants.

The candidate should be confident with computers and comfortable working independently post-training.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of hospital and community services for people across East Cheshire (population 399K) and West Cheshire and Chester (population 357K).

The Trust provides high quality planned and emergency care, cardiac, critical care, child health, maternity services and intermediate care at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford.

The Trust provides over 500 beds and employs over 5,100 members of staff.

A comprehensive range of community services is provided across 26 medical centres and schools through our Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership.
