We are looking for a friendly, reliable and encouraging Personal Assistant to support our daughter, a sociable young woman in her early twenties living in Crawley.

This is a rewarding opportunity to help her develop greater independence, confidence and life skills, particularly when travelling by public transport and getting out and about in the community.

The role is for 6 hours per week, ideally split into three 2-hour sessions, with days and times to be mutually agreed.

From September, she will either attend college in Burgess Hill, generally from 9am to 3pm, or a supported work placement at a nursery in Horsham, generally from 9am to 1pm.

The main focus of the role will be travel training and building confidence using public transport. Ideally, support would involve travelling with her to or from Crawley to either college or her work placement, gradually encouraging her to become more independent as her confidence develops.

There may also be opportunities to accompany her to activities, help her plan enjoyable outings and support her in becoming more confident when out in the community.

She is a happy, friendly and sociable young woman who loves movies and has a passion for collecting Barbie dolls. She has studied stop-motion animation and enjoys creative activities.

She can sometimes be sensitive to noise, so we are looking for someone who is calm, patient and understanding, and who can provide reassurance when needed.

We are looking for someone who is kind, dependable, patient and encouraging, with a positive attitude and good communication skills. You should feel comfortable using public transport and be willing to support her in building confidence and independence at her own pace.

Previous experience as a Personal Assistant or supporting someone with additional needs would be helpful, but a caring attitude, patience and the right personality are equally important.
