Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 8.45am – 4.55pm, Friday 8.45am – 4.25pm
Job profile: To work within the Volution Ventilation Group Technical Team as a Firmware Design Engineer, reporting to the Technical Manager - Controls, to design, develop & review firmware for embedded ventilation control systems, including fault-finding of controls & firmware and participating in firmware architecture and technical design activities.
As a Firmware Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Working in a small team environment.
- Working closely with electronics, mechanical, test, product management and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product delivery.
- Writing, updating and reviewing detailed product design, firmware specification and system test documents to ensure all requirements are met, throughout the whole product life cycle.
- Communicating concepts, unit and system level designs, design validation test results and progress of projects to core team & leadership.
- Contributing to continuous improvement of coding standards, development processes and tools.
- Planning, monitoring, and controlling workload and progress, ensuring deliverables are achieved against agreed timescales.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and solving complex technical problems.
- Prioritising key tasks effectively and demonstrating a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
