The Role
A secondary school in Solihull is looking to appoint a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team from September 2026 on a long-term supply basis. In this role, you will supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged with the work provided and maintain a positive attitude to learning. You will play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school by promoting high standards of behaviour and ensuring a calm and productive classroom environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a career in teaching, experienced Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants, Learning Mentors, or anyone with experience working with secondary-aged students. The position offers valuable classroom experience while making a meaningful contribution to students' education.
The Candidate
- Experience working with young people, preferably within a school or educational setting
- Confidence in managing classes across a range of curriculum subjects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective behaviour management and organisational abilities
- Flexibility, reliability, and ability to work independently
- Commitment to supporting students' learning, wellbeing, and personal development
- Experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Graduate, Sports Coach, Youth Worker, or Learning Mentor would be advantageous
