This post is for a Band 3 Therapy Technician at UHCW NHS Trust. The role is rotational within the inpatient therapy teams at the Coventry site. This includes, but is not limited to, our Stroke, Care of the Elderly, Neurosciences and Surgery teams. The rotations will be for 1 year in each clinical area.

The role involves working collaboratively with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and fellow therapy support workers across inpatient settings, supporting patients in their journey through the Acute Trust, focusing on optimising recovery through rehabilitation, preventing deconditioning and supporting timely discharges.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
- To treat patients, following protocols that have been delegated to them e.g. walking aid assessments, progression of treatments, participating in planned group work, activities of daily living, personal care and individual activities as part of ongoing treatment.
- Only undertaking tasks that they have been trained to carry out.
- To independently develop and provide exercise programmes for individual patients, with the guidance of a registered therapist where appropriate.
- To use knowledge and understanding of common physical, mental and behavioural health conditions to recognise deterioration in patients. Respond by promptly escalating concerns to a registered practitioner.
- Equipment cleaning, stock management and maintenance.

- Ensures equipment is safe, infection control compliant, and ordered in timely manner to support discharges.
