About the Role

Want to lead on site and build a career while you're at it?

This is a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground Team Leader role and the first step on the ladder to becoming a Manager.

You'll be out on live construction sites running the show - leading teams of subcontractors and employees, keeping every offload safe, sharp and on schedule, and setting the standard others follow.

It's fast-paced, physical and no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work allocation
  • - Liaise with customers as required.
  • - Lead teams of subcontractors and employees on site in a fast-paced environment.
  • - Prepare in advance for allocated work (e. g. site visits, Google Maps, contacting site managers and drivers).
  • - React to and remedy construction site issues during vehicle unloading.
  • - Ensure sufficient resources are in place for allocated work, managing sickness and absence.
  • - Ensure lateness or absence is recorded and Area Field Operations informed.
  • - Build relationships with construction site managers.
  • - Complete training toolbox talks with unloaders.
  • - Train unloaders and keep an accurate record of training.
  • - Investigate customer service issues and complaints, providing feedback as required.
  • - Provide feedback and reports as required, including weekly grading of unloaders.
  • - Attend and participate in meetings and reviews (Zoom, conference calls or in person).
  • - Carry out any reasonable task as requested by your line manager or Support Office.
  • - Ensure all completed jobs have photographic evidence as proof of completion.
  • - Attend prearranged construction sites to unload kitchens and appliances in new homes.
  • - Ensure all health and safety rules are strictly followed.
  • - Complete inductions and training (online and on-site) as required.
  • - Organise local teams to unload kitchens and appliances into the correct new homes.
  • - Work closely with Area Field Operations as required.
  • - A sound grounding in construction and general site working.
  • - Confident leading teams of subcontractors and employees in fast-paced environments.
  • - Planning and scheduling.
  • - Problem-solving and issue resolution.
  • - Rota management and workload control.
  • - Site and vehicle auditing.
  • - Health & safety compliance.
  • - Information gathering and reporting.
  • - Experience in offloading vehicles.

Requirements

  • - Valid CSCS card.
  • - Full UK driving licence.
