The role of Senior Urology Clinical Nurseis high profile, dynamic, proactive and pioneering role.
The senior clinicalnursefor Urology will be able to make informed decisions and have managerialresponsibility for nursing service deliveryacrossurologyspecialist nursing services.
The rolesfocus will be to improve overallpatientexperience and patient outcomes, forpatients withurologicalconditionsusing services improvement and quality methodology and be responsive to challenging healthcare needs and advances in practice.
The post holder will engage directly with medical and nursing teams in the management of benign and cancer urology patients, providing leadership of the services, advice, collaboration, and consultancy ensuring that patients gain appropriate and timely care.
In addition, they will develop consistent approaches to the strategic management of the patient group, through training and education, policy and guideline development, audit and research and implementation of evidence based care.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
The role of the Senior Urology Clinical Nurse is a dynamics proactive and pioneering role.
The senior nurse will be able to make informed decisions and support the lead urology nurse with managerial responsibility for the nursing service delivery across the urology pathway both benign and cancer.
The focus of the role will be to improve the patient experience and patient outcomes, for patient with speciality related conditions using service improvement and quality methodology and be responsive to challenging healthcare needs and advances in practice.

Support the Lead Urology Nurse in developing nursing services, deputising asrequired.).
- Responsiblefortheefficientmanagementofprocessese. g. complaintswithinadefinedareae. g. complaints; traininganddevelopment; appraisalandpatientflow.
- Utiliseinformationand ITsystemstoproduceaccurateandtimelyworkforce andresource data and reports.
- Responsiblefordevelopment, implementationandevaluationof projectstoimprove patient careandservicedevelopmentthroughtheauditcycle, linkingtotheclinicalgovernanceframework and business planning process.
- Undertakedirectworkloadrequiringmoderatetohighphysicaleffortaccordingtopatient dependency or staff need.
- Demonstratethrougheffectiveleadershiptheabilitytoprovideprofessionalandemotional support to individuals and groups, e. g. during difficult situations or unexpected events.
