Senior Clinical Fellow (Parkinsons and Movement Disorder)
A 12-month Advanced Clinical Training Fellowship in Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders is designed for post-CCT or peri-CCT neurology trainees wishing to develop advanced expertise in the diagnosis and management of Parkinson’s disease and complex movement disorders.
The fellowship provides comprehensive exposure to specialist outpatient clinics, multidisciplinary team working, advanced therapeutics and research opportunities within a tertiary neuroscience service.
Responsibilities
- Participate in specialist movement disorder outpatient clinics and multidisciplinary meetings.
- Assess and manage patients with Parkinson’s disease and atypical parkinsonian syndromes.
- Develop expertise in advanced Parkinson’s therapies including device-assisted therapies and deep brain stimulation pathways.
- Participate in botulinum toxin clinics for dystonia and spasticity management.
- Contribute to inpatient neurology consultations involving movement disorders.
- Participate in specialist neuropsychiatry and functional neurological disorder services where available.
- Support teaching and education of junior medical staff, allied health professionals and medical students.
- Undertake audit, quality improvement and research projects relevant to movement disorders.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to clinical governance activities.
- Participate in departmental educational meetings and journal clubs.
