An established, values-led organisation based in the Coventry is seeking a part-time Finance Assistant to join its finance team. This is a varied opportunity within a supportive environment where accuracy, confidentiality and strong administrative skills are key. Your new role
As Finance Assistant, you will support the finance function with day-to-day bookkeeping, financial administration and general accounting duties. Working 15 hours per week, you will assist with processing income and expenditure, maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling transactions and supporting the wider team with finance-related administration.
- Processing income and expenditure accurately and in line with finance procedures
- Maintaining records for income, expenditure, invoices, expenses and credit card transactions
- Assisting with sales invoices, customer billing and credit control support
- Reconciling transactions and ensuring documentation is retained appropriately
- Supporting audit preparation and general finance administration
- Working closely with colleagues across finance and the wider organisation
What you'll need to succeed
You will have previous experience working in a finance, accounts or bookkeeping role, ideally with exposure to an accounting system such as Xero, Sage or a similar package. You will be confident using Excel, have strong attention to detail and be comfortable handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- At least 3 years' experience using an accounts package for bookkeeping or general finance administration
- Strong numeracy skills and high attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Experience processing invoices, expenses, reconciliations or financial records
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with finance and non-finance colleagues
- A flexible, reliable and methodical approach to work
- AAT qualification or part-qualification would be advantageous but is not essential
