Rugby Theatres has an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Theatre Practitioner with extensive Orthopaedic Experience .
We are looking for a enthusiastic and dynamic individual to take on the Role of Clinical Lead for Robotic Surgery .
In addition to this you will work alongside the existing Senior Clinical Band 6 to support the Primary Hip and Knee and Revision service .
Excellent communication skills, experience in the Team Lead role and being able to demonstrate strong Leadership skills are essential .
There is an expectation that ongoing support , training, and the development of the team you lead is a key part of the role .
The service is busy and fast paced and is continuing to expand and develop.
We are looking for an individual who is responsive , can work calmly and efficiently and inspire the team to provide the highest standards of safety and care.
Support will be given to help further develop clinical and leadership skills.
As a provider of patient-centred care, we are passionate about delivering excellent care to our local and extended population in the acute environment and in recent years, our theatres have achieved large gains in productivity and efficiency through improved capacity management and real-time tracking of theatre activity.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
- The primary focus of the post is to ensure that the Trust provides high quality patient centred care.
- The practitioner will act as an advocate for patients.
- The practitioner will provide clinical leadership for a specified theatre / specialist area and deputise in the absence of the band 7 Clinical Lead.
- The practitioner will be required to weekends as service dedicates.
- The practitioner will become proficient in rostering and absence management.
- You will carry out a wide range of theatre duties at the direction of senior staff.
- You will be responsible for their own professional conduct in line with NMC/HPC Code of Conduct. They will adhere to and understand all Trust & local policies and procedures.

- Assess, plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate the peri-operative care of patients using specialist knowledge and skills.

- Maintain health, safety, and the control of infection in clinical work areas in line with Trust policies and procedures.
- Store, prepare and administer prescribed drugs to patients, and monitor the effects of drugs on patients in line with Trust policies.
- Prepare, monitor, and maintain materials and equipment for clinical procedures, take action if found to be faulty.
- Support, monitor and care for patients during clinical procedures.
- Contribute to treating patients during clinical emergencies.
- Receive, transfer and position patients for clinical procedures.
- Maintain accurate & legible records of care.
