Operations and Performance Manager | University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations and Performance Manager to join our Integrated Neighbourhood Team.

This pivotal role will support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred community services by providing operational leadership, performance oversight and strategic support across a multidisciplinary neighbourhood model.

Working closely with clinical, operational and system partners, you will play a key role in ensuring services are safe, effective and responsive to the needs of local populations.

You will lead on performance management, service improvement, operational planning and reporting, helping teams deliver excellent outcomes for residents while meeting organisational and national priorities.

  • Support the development, monitoring and reporting of operational and performance metrics across integrated neighbourhood services.
  • Analyse complex performance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support operational delivery by working with service leads to address performance challenges and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Develop and maintain performance dashboards, reports and assurance frameworks.
  • Lead and support service improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality and patient experience.
  • Coordinate operational planning and performance reviews, ensuring alignment with organisational and system objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with clinical leaders, operational managers and external partners across health and social care.
  • Support resource management, workforce planning and service design activity.
  • Ensure robust governance processes are in place to monitor risk, quality and performance.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership teams, committees and partnership forums as required.

  • Work with the Group Manager & Associate Group Manager ensuring clear communication and robust operational implementation of policy, business objectives and agreed targets across the department.
  • Support the Group Manager & Associate Group Manager with the operational management of services and supporting continuous service improvement.
  • Responsible for day-to-day delivery of operational performance within assigned services to achieve delivery of national and local targets and the development and delivery of improvement plans.
  • Responsible for assigned budgets as budgetary signature e. g. Admin cost centre budgets.
  • Implement HR and governance strategies and policies within relevant services to achieve compliancy with Trust policies and procedures, best practice, relevant legislation and regulatory provisions.
  • Responsible for the improvement and delivery of utilisation targets by ensuring effective and efficient usage of service capacity
  • Responsible for the management of service administrative staff/teams ensuring Mandatory Training, PDRs and absence are managed in line with Trust policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring robust processes are in place to schedule patients and utilise clinics fully meeting set Key Performance Indicators and taking appropriate and timely remedial action where necessary.
  • Accountable for agreed performance metrics ensuring robust monitoring and management structures are in place to ensure transparency and accountability for teams to delivery of team scheduling targets.
  • Implement and review robust arrangements within relevant specialties to effectively deal with emergencies, in line with Trust policy, including elective and emergency admissions, major emergencies and mechanical failures.
  • Lead on project work when required as directed by the Group / Associate Group Manager
