A well-established, market-leading organisation is seeking an experienced Billing Team Leader to join its finance function on an interim basis (potential for perm for the right candidate). Operating within a fast-paced environment, the business is looking for a hands-on leader who can support daily billing operations whilst identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and overall team performance. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced billing, accounts receivable or revenue leader who enjoys driving improvements and making a visible impact within a busy finance team.
Your new role
Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will take responsibility for overseeing the billing function and supporting a team of 3 to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, motivating and supporting the billing team on a day-to-day basis.
- Managing the end-to-end billing process to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Investigating and resolving billing queries and discrepancies.
- Reviewing existing processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Monitoring billing performance, workload and service levels.
- Working closely with finance, operational and commercial stakeholders.
- Supporting month-end activities, reconciliations and reporting requirements.
- Introducing stronger controls and best practice procedures where required.
- Assisting with process documentation, system enhancements and change initiatives.
- Helping to reduce backlogs, improve accuracy and drive operational efficiencies.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience leading a billing, invoicing, accounts receivable or revenue team.
- Strong understanding of high-volume transactional finance environments.
- Proven experience delivering process improvements and driving efficiencies.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good systems knowledge, including ERP systems and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and quickly add value within an interim assignment.
- Available at short notice or immediately available candidates will be highly desirable.
