Our client is a growing, highly regarded swimming pool engineering company operating across the Cotswolds and Wessex, providing specialist servicing, maintenance and repair services to high-end residential clients.
They are specifically interested in hearing from former Armed Forces personnel with an electrical background who are looking to transfer their technical skills into a specialist civilian engineering career.
No previous swimming pool experience is required.
If you have a recognised electrical inspection and testing qualification, together with the discipline, reliability and problem-solving ability developed during your military career, our client will provide the specialist training required to develop you into a fully competent Swimming Pool Service Engineer.

The Role
Working independently in the field, you will visit customer sites across Wiltshire, Swindon, the Cotswolds and surrounding M4 corridor, servicing and maintaining swimming pool equipment and plant rooms.
Following comprehensive training, your responsibilities will include
- Inspecting, testing, fault-finding and repairing electrical control panels, pumps, dosing systems, electric heaters, UV systems and automated pool controls.
- Carrying out routine plant room servicing and mechanical maintenance.
- Installing and maintaining associated pool equipment.
- Conducting water testing and chemical balancing.
- Diagnosing faults and resolving technical problems on site.
- Ensuring work complies with relevant electrical and safety standards.
- Managing your own daily travel and workload.
- Representing the company professionally when dealing with homeowners and facilities managers.
About You
Our client is looking for someone who combines sound electrical knowledge with the professional standards and personal qualities associated with a successful military career.
- City & Guilds 2391-52 – Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing, or an equivalent - cognised qualification.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Former Armed Forces background – Royal Navy, British Army or RAF.
- Able and comfortable working independently in a field-based environment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
- Professional and confident when dealing directly with customers.
- Previous swimming pool experience is not required.
- Experience working with pumps, motors, control systems, plumbing or hydraulics would be advantageous, as would existing swimming pool or water-treatment qualifications, but neither is essential.
