The Role
Reporting to and supporting the Production Manager you will be responsible for supervising the manufacture of conveyor systems, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan resources effectively to meet daily production targets
- Ensure products are assembled, inspected and documented in line with SOPs and engineering drawings
- Lead by example on the shop floor, supporting operators with training and cross‑functional skills.
- Champion QHSE standards, carrying out audits, inspections, safety tours and toolbox talks.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 45001, 9001 and 14001 standards.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure the area is always "visit ready".
- Support training plans, ensuring operatives are trained across multiple processes.
- Communicate KPIs, coach team members and recognise strong performance.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding and recommendations for promotions.
Experience and Attributes
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GA layouts
- Understanding of BOMs
- Mechanical assembly experience including torque settings and fastening methods
- Awareness of hydraulics and pneumatic's
- Experience in high‑paced manufacturing
- Strong quality inspection skills and a keen eye for detail
- Knowledge of ISO standards
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Manufacturing
