We’re looking for a commercially driven Contracts Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s team. This role suits an individual with strong expertise in managing contracts, cost control, and project financial performance. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring contractual compliance, controlling variations, and driving profitability across key operations.

Salary: Competitive

Location and Working Pattern: Office-based, 39 hours per week

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and control project costs to ensure budgets and commercial targets are achieved
  • Administer and manage variations in line with contractual terms
  • Monitor and report on project financial performance and forecasts
  • Provide cost analysis and feedback to production teams to aid decision-making
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies
  • Support the implementation of improved cost and time control processes
  • Interpret and apply contract requirements effectively within project environments
  • Assist in resolving commercial issues and discrepancies across project documentation
  • Work closely with clients, engineers, and site teams to ensure commercial alignment

Must-have Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of contract management and commercial principles
  • Proven cost control, variation management, and financial reporting experience
  • Previous experience in construction, engineering, or manufacturing project environments
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong mathematical and analytical capability

Nice-to-have Skills:

  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
  • Experience in resolving discrepancies between design, specification, and site conditions
