Consultant Psychiatrist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAMHS)
Accountability: The appointee will be professionally responsible to The Associate Medical Director via the Joint Head of Service, Dr Paliokosta.
The appointee will be managerially accountable to the Lead Clinicians Dr Sacha Guglani and Dr Kate Johnston, and the Service Manager for National & Specialist CAMHS, Donna Underwood, who work in partnership with the SCAAND Senior Clinicians to deliver this service.
Along with other senior members of the SCAAND team, take responsibility for ensuring there is effective communication with referring and receiving teams both throughout the Trust and to other Trusts.
Maintain good open relations with all clinical team members to provide consultation and discussion of cases around the management of psychiatric issues including consultation.
Participate in care planning and treatment formulation, provide guidance on evidence-based treatment and their effectiveness.
Join other team members in the assessment and treatment of complex cases.
Be responsible for prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medication.
Support delivery and innovation of the adapted interventions and specialist groups.
Support all research and quality improvement studies taken by the service.
