This busy coastal Emergency Department manages over 160 patients daily, offering a broad and complex case mix of patients of all ages.
The role involves providing senior clinical presence on the shop floor from 08:00 to 00:00, seven days a week, with additional on-call responsibilities. The appointee will lead the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients in the adult Emergency Department and contribute to care within the ED Observation Unit.
Close collaboration with the hospitals' Assessment units, Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), ICU, and specialty teams is essential to ensure seamless, patient-centred care. Emergency staff retain responsibility for immediate care, while ongoing management is coordinated with relevant specialties.
