The Role
To carry out tasks set by site supervisors and gangers to a high and safe standard. Must be willing to do labouring work along with slinger duties, ideally with shaft and tunnelling experience and a keen attitude to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and carry out job-set tasks
- Ensure have been briefed and understand all relevant risk and method statements
- Use the best and safest practices on all tasks carried out
- Carry checks on any equipment that may be used
- Ensure a safe, tidy place of work
- Ensure the completion of work is on time
- Maximise use of own working time
- Ensure signed up for all permits and briefings before commencing any work
- Communication with site management
- Communicate with the site supervisor on any health and safety concerns
- Feedback to site management with near miss/close call reporting
- Ensure attendance at all site briefings, forums, and toolbox talks
