The Best Connection is a recruitment agency, and this position is being offered on a Temporary - Permanent basis. We are partnering with a highly respected fragrance manufacturer that supplies premium scents to a wide range of global brands. Due to continued growth in production demand, we are looking to add a dedicated Compound Operative to their specialist team based in Newhaven.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on, practical work within a structured manufacturing environment. As a Compound Operative, you will play a key part in the creation of high-quality fragrances by carefully measuring, blending, and preparing raw materials used in the compounding process. You'll work with a variety of ingredients including aroma chemicals, essential oils, and solvents - all under precise instructions to ensure consistency and quality across every batch.

You'll be joining a business that prides itself on maintaining exceptionally high standards, and you'll receive full training on their processes, equipment, and safety procedures. The role offers a balance of routine and variety: you'll follow detailed formulations each day, but no two batches are ever completely the same. Attention to detail, accuracy, and a methodical approach are essential, as the work you do directly contributes to the performance of their final products.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with production or compounding experience who is looking to build a long-term career within a specialist sector. You'll work alongside an experienced team, benefit from ongoing development, and be part of a company that values consistency, reliability, and teamwork.

You will be responsible for:

  • Accurately weigh, measure, and mix fragrance ingredients following precise formulations.
  • Operate mixing, blending and compounding equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain strict quality, hygiene, and safety standards in the production area.
  • Complete batch sheets, production records, and stock documentation accurately.
  • Assist with stock control, including picking raw materials and replenishing ingredients.
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with H&S regulations.
  • Report any deviations, issues, or equipment faults to supervisors promptly.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Access to a device to complete an online application.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Good attention to detail and teamwork skills.

Competitive hourly rate. Weekly pay - every Friday. Temp-to-perm opportunities. Quick 15-minute registration process. Access to hundreds of jobs across East Sussex. Nationwide support from 85+ branches (easy transfer if you relocate). All positions are subject to availability. Due to high volumes of applications, please allow up to 10 working days for a response. If you haven't heard from us in that time, unfortunately you've not been successful.
