This is a hybrid working contract, there is a requirement for some of the duties to be carried out at home and some on site. Site attendance will constitute more than 40% of available working time.

Tamworth Borough Council is seeking to recruit a passionate and community-focused individual to join the partnerships team. This is an exciting opportunity to champion civic pride, support community-led initiatives, and help enhance the appearance, vibrancy and sense of belonging across our borough. You will work closely with residents, community groups, partners and internal services to deliver impactful local projects and initiatives.
As part of the role, you will receive support to achieve a Level 4 Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CRCS) Practitioner qualification. The role will have ring-fenced time for learning.
The person we are looking for will have the skills and experience to:
- Build strong relationships with residents, community organisations and local stakeholders
- Support community-led projects and initiatives
- Support with the administration and monitoring of community grant schemes and community initiatives
- Provide administrative support at partnership meetings
- Encourage participation and engagement across diverse communities
- Work collaboratively across council services and with external partners
- Promote environmental pride, local identity, and neighbourhood improvement
- Act as a visible presence within communities across the borough of Tamworth
- Able to build trust and strong working relationships with residents and partners
- Organised, proactive and able to manage projects and priorities effectively
- A confident communicator, both written and verbal
Knowledge of community engagement or community development approaches and experience of working with communities, voluntary groups or public sector organisations is desirable. We are looking for an individual with a “can do” approach who has a strong understanding of the issues affecting local areas and neighbourhoods or the ability to quickly build understanding of local needs and networks. The successful candidate will be educated to A level or hold a level 3 equivalent qualification.
