Join Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service – We’re Hiring Now! We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Community Engagement and Education Officer to join our Community Safety team. This is a rewarding role where you’ll work directly with communities across Nottinghamshire, helping to reduce risk, prevent incidents and ultimately create safer communities.
You’ll take the lead on developing and delivering projects for youth engagement and education programmes, working closely with partners and local organisations to ensure our work reaches those who need it most. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, using data to inform decisions, and making a real difference at a community level.
- Develop, deliver and evaluate community engagement and prevention programmes aligned to local needs
- Work collaboratively with partners, stakeholders and internal teams to reduce risk and improve community safety
- Use data and insight to identify trends, target areas of need, and support decision-making
- Promote fire safety and prevention messages through community outreach and engagement activities
- Build positive relationships with diverse communities, ensuring services are inclusive and accessible
- Identify funding opportunities and make effective use of partnership resources
- Support and manage Community Engagement Workers, including coordinating workloads and sharing best practice
- Monitor and evaluate programmes, producing reports and recommendations for improvement
- Work with communications teams to promote campaigns and increase community awareness
- Make referrals and support safeguarding processes where risks are identified
