About the Client An innovative energy specialist and Tier 1 Consultancy is reshaping how large-scale energy systems and district heating networks are delivered across the UK.

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Gas Engineer looking to transition away from conventional, stagnant processes into a rapid-growth, forward-thinking environment.

The Opportunity

  • Work closely with the Technical Manager within the Operations Department, taking ownership of high-value energy centre plant rooms.
  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fault-finding across large-scale commercial plant machinery.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to incoming junior engineers.

  • Base salary of £52,500 – £60,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

  • Technical Essentials
  • Minimum 2 years of dedicated experience operating as a Commercial Gas Engineer.
  • Strong operational knowledge of energy centres and plant rooms.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Gas, Plumbing, or heating discipline.
  • Valid Commercial Gas Registration, Testing & Purging Training Course (TPCP1), and Gas Booster (BMP1).
  • Proven track record servicing, fault-finding, and replacing parts on commercial boilers from leading manufacturers (e. g., Hoval, Hamworthy, Ideal, Buderus).
  • Ability to interpret complex mechanical schematics and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Competence in both mechanical and basic electrical safe isolation.
  • Valid Full UK Driving License (held for a minimum of 12 months) and willingness to join a 1-in-4 week on-call rota.
  • Desirable: Part P or Part G compliance certifications; prior experience working on district heating networks.
